The working principle of mill compound machine

Milling machine is a kind of CNC machine tool, it can be milling and turning at the same time, can process a variety of complex surface parts. How it works can be simply described in the following steps:

Workpiece clamping: The workpiece to be processed is installed on the workbench of the milling machine, and the workpiece is clamped by the fixture to ensure the stability of the workpiece in the process of processing.

Coordinate system setting: according to the shape and size of the workpiece, as well as processing requirements, set the motion path of each tool in the process of processing. Milling complex machine generally use numerical control system to set the program, the operator needs to input the corresponding instructions on the computer.

Milling processing: the first milling processing, that is, the use of milling cutter on the workpiece surface to cut out the required shape and size of the groove, plane and so on, the cutting direction and machining depth of the tool is determined by the program.

Turning: After the milling process is completed, the tool is replaced with a turning tool, which is used to turn some parts on the workpiece to form the required curved surface shape. Turning processing usually needs to be carried out in multiple directions.

Accuracy check: After processing, the accuracy of the workpiece needs to be checked to ensure that the processing quality meets the requirements.
